About
YellowSub Tarifa is a PADI dive centre in the harbour of Tarifa, close to the old town, at the southernmost point of Spain where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. The shop has a rinse and drying area, an equipment storage room, changing rooms with showers, a compressor room and a small retail area, and carries 15 full sets of Cressi rental gear in 5mm and 7mm wetsuits plus dive torches, cameras and computers for hire. Two dedicated dive boats run the trips: Larache, an 8-metre fibreglass boat for up to 10 divers, and Inshallah, a 6-metre fibreglass speedboat for up to 8 divers. Diving takes place in the Isla de las Palomas natural park, where visibility is consistently good and water temperature stays between 15 and 20°C year-round; expect moray and conger eels, octopus, scorpionfish, sunfish, nudibranchs, wrasse, rays, forkbeard, bream, sea perch, gorgonians and anemones. The team is led by a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and Tec Rec Instructor and runs the full PADI course ladder from Discover Scuba Diving through Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver, plus Emergency First Response, scuba reviews and specialty courses. Under Spanish law the minimum age for courses is 14, with exceptions for confined-water Discover Scuba Diving (12+), Project AWARE and Emergency First Response (no minimum age); a signed medical statement is required for all courses. YellowSub Tarifa is open all year round.
