About

Located 2km off Double Island Point, Wolf Rock was classified as a marine sanctuary in 2003 when it was observed to be the only known gestation site for the critically endangered Grey Nurse Shark on the East Coast of Australia. Wolf Rock really is the land of the giants; Grey Nurse Sharks are found throughout the year with other frequent visitors to the Rock including Manta Rays, Leopard Sharks, Eagle Rays, Blotched Fan Tail Rays, Sea Turtles, Olive Sea Snakes, Giant Queensland Grouper and in the winter, the Humpback Whale! Due to the close proximity of the Great Barrier Reef, you can expect to see a vast array of Tropical and Subtropical reef fish alongside all the other Pelagics! If you feel like swapping your wide angle for a macro lens you will not be disappointed. Wolf Rock is covered with Nudibranchs, Pipe Fish, Frogfish, Eels, Octopus, Sea Apples and much much more!
