About
Wellbeach Dive Resort sits on the coast of Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental, about 20 minutes south of Dumaguete and close to the Apo Island Marine Sanctuary. Its own house reef, right in front of the property, is known for macro life such as harlequin shrimp, ghost pipefish and nudibranchs, making it popular with critter hunters and beginners alike. Owned by a Filipino-Swiss couple, the resort runs a full dive operation with its own compressor room and Nitrox fills, a stocked dive shop and equipment rental, and dedicated dive boats. As a PADI resort it offers the complete course ladder from Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water through Divemaster, plus specialties like Nitrox and Rescue Diver, with PADI eLearning available for the theory portion; guides work in groups of up to four divers. Beyond Apo Island, day trips reach dive sites around Dauin, Siaton, Sumilon and Zamboanguita itself, covering muck diving, drift dives, artificial reefs and coral gardens. The resort also runs environmental initiatives — edible straws instead of plastic, a zero-liquid-discharge wastewater system, and dive-against-debris clean-ups. On land there are six room types, a restaurant, a pool and spa services.
