Walindi Plantation Resort is a boutique, family-owned dive resort on the shores of Kimbe Bay, Papua New Guinea, run by the Benjamin family since 1983 and now into its third generation. Kimbe Bay sits in the heart of the Coral Triangle and is recognised as a Mission Blue Hope Spot, holding more than half of the world's coral species. Guests stay in ocean-view bungalows or garden-view plantation house rooms and dive from three custom-built day boats reaching over 40 uncrowded sites - seamounts, sheer walls, coral gardens and reefs with resident schools of barracuda and jacks, plus regular sightings of sharks, dolphins and occasional orcas and whale sharks. The onsite dive centre offers air and Nitrox fills, daily and night diving, full PADI training courses, dive and snorkel gear hire, and equipment repair, with a dedicated dive crew from the local area. Beyond day diving, Walindi also runs two liveaboards, MV FeBrina and MV Oceania, with itineraries through Kimbe Bay, the Bismarck Sea, Rabaul, Kavieng and Milne Bay. Snorkeling and freediving are equally strong here, including a custom 'Dolphin Nets' experience for observing dolphin and orca pods from the boat. A PNG dive industry Environment & Safety Fee of US$9 per diver per day applies to support recompression facilities and marine conservation.
