The Shark's Tail Dive Resort has operated in Malapascua, Daanbantayan, Cebu, Philippines since 2017, combining a small dive centre with on-site accommodation and a restaurant. Malapascua is famous as one of the only places in the world where thresher sharks can be reliably seen year-round, and the resort runs regular trips to Kimud Shoal and Monad Shoal, the latter also offering a chance of tiger shark sightings. Its more than 20 local dive sites include the tunnels and soft coral gardens of Gato Island, the pinnacle dive at Bugtong-Bato, macro sites such as Pantaw-Pantaw, and the white-sandbar day trip to Calanggaman Island. PADI-certified instructors offer the full training path from Discover Scuba Diving and scuba refresher courses through Open Water and Advanced Open Water certification, plus higher-level Rescue Diver, Divemaster and Instructor training on request. The resort also puts together full- and half-board packages for groups of four or more, including airport transfers from Cebu.
