The Scuba Shop SXM is a PADI 5-Star Dive and ECO Center located at #16 Airport Road, Simpson Bay, Sint Maarten. The center offers guided boat dive trips aboard the Mermaid's Tale, a 30ft semi-rigid inflatable with a maximum of 8 divers and a 4:1 diver-to-guide ratio. Dive sites along the South coast include reefs and wrecks with reef sharks, turtles, and stingrays. The center offers morning 2-dive trips and afternoon 1-tank dives, plus night dives and private charters. PADI training ranges from Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water through Advanced, Rescue, and Divemaster, plus specialties (Peak Performance Buoyancy, Wreck, Search & Recovery, Drift, Self-reliant, Full Face Mask, Shark & Ray Conservation) and the PADI Mermaid Program. Citizen science programs run include PADI Dive Against Debris, PADI Shark and Ray Conservation Surveys, and REEF Volunteer Fish Surveys. Equipment rental, a fill station, hydrostatic re-test facility, and professional scuba gear service are on-site.
