The Dive Academy Las Terrenas is co-owned and run by NAUI Course Director Paul and NAUI Instructor Trainer Audrey on the Samana Peninsula, Dominican Republic. The center teaches through both NAUI and SSI and uses a custom 38-passenger catamaran, the Antares, to reach dive sites around the peninsula, including Cabo Cabron National Park. Certified divers can book local double-tank trips around the Ballenas Islands, Jackson Bay and Samana Bay, or full-day excursions further out to Cabo Cabron and the Dudu cenotes and caverns. Beginners can try an introductory confined-water session or a guided discovery dive in a sheltered bay before moving into a full course. Training runs the full range from Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver up through Advanced, Rescue Diver, Nitrox and an emergency first-response course, with digital learning materials, academics, exams, certification cards and equipment rental included in course prices. Payments are accepted in Dominican pesos, USD or euros, cash, card or PayPal.
