Taz's Excursions is a service-disabled veteran-owned dive charter based in Fort Walton Beach on Florida's Emerald Coast. The operation is run by owner Johnny Mulford, a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with more than 32 years as a PADI member and a 100-Ton Master Captain's license, alongside a small crew of PADI instructors, a divemaster, and mates. Trips run from near-shore reefs out to wrecks and artificial reefs more than 25 miles offshore in federal waters around Destin, Fort Walton Beach, and Pensacola, including the USS Oriskany. The 29ft Pro Kat dive boat "Chester" holds six passengers and is equipped with a dive ladder, custom bench seating for tanks, a private latrine, and an inside cabin. Besides guided scuba diving, the team runs guided spearfishing and lionfishing trips under its own federal fishing permit, and offers PADI instruction from Open Water through Divemaster, including PADI Lionfish Hunter training.
