Submarine Diving Center (Into the Deeps) is a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort on Unawatuna Beach in southern Sri Lanka, with a second base in Trincomalee on the east coast. Family run for more than 30 years, it is one of the country's longest-established dive operations, situated directly on the beach for easy shore and boat access. The centre runs the full PADI training path, from Discover Scuba Diving through Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver and Divemaster, plus specialty courses such as Deep, Night, Wreck, Photography, Peak Performance Buoyancy and Equipment. Fun diving trips explore coral reefs, pinnacles and wrecks including the Rangoon, with regular sightings of turtles and reef fish in the warm Indian Ocean. Two guided snorkelling tours cover the Goda Gala reef and Lord Nelson wreck, and the calmer Jungle Beach reef, suitable for beginners and families. All dives and courses include equipment, a dive guide and refreshments, and multi-day certification packages can be combined with private double-room accommodation. The team is led by long-standing local instructors alongside a younger crew of PADI professionals, and the centre also runs a Divemaster internship programme.
