About
Sea Star WaterSports is a PADI 5-star IDC Centre (S-2500) in Aqaba, Jordan, established in 1988 as Aqaba's first PADI Instructor Development Centre. Based about 50 metres from the water's edge, the centre has trained divers from beginner to instructor level, including members of the British Armed Forces and other organisations, and offers certification through PADI, SSI, CMAS and TDI. The centre runs shore and boat diving to sites such as Cazar Reef, Seven Sisters & the Tank, King Abdullah Reef, the Hercules C-130 wreck, the Military Museum site and the Cedar Pride shipwreck. Its instructors and the centre itself are DAN-insured, air quality is checked regularly, and nitrox is available on demand. Sea Star also runs the Club Murjan beach and snorkelling club, with guided snorkelling trips by shore or boat. Courses cover the full PADI ladder from Bubblemaker and Discover Scuba Diving through Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver, plus the professional pathway (Divemaster, Open Water Scuba Instructor, Specialty Instructor, Master Scuba Diver Trainer, IDC Staff Instructor, Master Instructor and Course Director), technical diving courses (Tec 40/45/50, Tec Deep, Tec 65, Tec Trimix, side-mount), and e-learning options.
