About

Scuba Himandhoo is a PADI 5-Star dive centre on Himandhoo Island in Alif Alif (Ari) Atoll, Maldives, offering diving together with on-site accommodation. The house reef has around 40 dive spots with sharks, manta rays, unicornfish and coral, suitable for all levels, and the centre also runs boat dives to well-known sites around Ari Atoll. Local dive sites include thila (underwater pinnacle) dives, roughly 10-30m deep, with fusiliers, tuna, white-tip and grey reef sharks and rays; cave dives around 5-20m with lobsters, turtles, octopus and soft coral; and channel drift dives for experienced divers, 20-30m deep, with grey reef sharks, eagle rays, tuna, stingrays and barracuda. The centre offers a full range of PADI courses, from Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water through Advanced, Rescue and Divemaster, plus specialty courses (Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Navigator, Night Diver, Wreck Diver, Drift Diver, Digital Underwater Photographer, Search and Recovery, PADI AWARE, Fish Identification and Coral Reef Conservation). Non-divers can join excursions such as manta ray, whale shark and turtle snorkelling, sandbank trips, dolphin watching, and sunset or big-game fishing. DAN diving insurance is available, own equipment is welcome, and the centre caters to large groups and dive clubs. Himandhoo Island is reachable by speedboat, local boat or seaplane from Velana International Airport.
