Kalpitiya Diving Center is a family-run Sri Lankan dive operator founded by Samitha Fernando, whose father Shantha Fernando was a pioneer of diving in Sri Lanka, introducing scuba to Kalpitiya back in 1975. This listing is the operator's Trincomalee branch at Sandy Bay, launched after the diving journey that began in Trincomalee in 1995 and was relaunched post-COVID as a PADI-certified, eco-friendly dive center. The east coast Trincomalee location offers crystal-clear water, vibrant coral reefs and seasonal whale sightings, with beginner-friendly conditions and direct access to the coral island at Sandy Bay - well suited to first-time divers and casual snorkelers alike. The center operates seasonally from mid-March to the end of October (the team moves to the west coast Kalpitiya branch for the rest of the year) and offers PADI courses from beginner to professional level, plus snorkeling, dolphin watching and whale encounter tours. Both branches are approved by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.
