About
PuraVida DiveHouse is a small, family-run dive centre and guesthouse in Sagres, on Portugal's Algarve coast, combining diving, accommodation and marine conservation in one place. The team teaches scuba diving mainly through SSI, from a half-day Discover Scuba taster through Open Water and Advanced Open Water certification, up to specialty courses (Nitrox, deep, wreck, night diving, dry suit, search & recovery, rescue, underwater photography) and professional training as far as Divemaster; PADI certification is available on request. Multi-day dive camps bundle courses with stays at the on-site Dive Hostel, a short walk from the water. Alongside scuba, PuraVida runs a freediving programme (Try Freediving through SSI and AIDA Freediver levels 1-3) led by a dedicated freediving coach with over 20 years of spearfishing experience in the Azores, mainland Portugal and the UK. Diving takes place across more than 30 sites around Sagres, an area known for wrecks, caves and clear Atlantic water. Minimum age for scuba certification is 10; for freediving, 16. Courses run in English, Portuguese and Spanish, and the centre is well reviewed on Google and Tripadvisor for its guides, small groups and relaxed dive-house atmosphere.
