Planet Scuba Mexico is a technical and cave diving centre based in Puerto Aventuras, Riviera Maya, Mexico, built and run by IANTD Instructor Trainer Markus Teupe since 2005. It is an IANTD Instructor Training Center specialising in cenote cavern diving, full cave diving, technical diving (advanced nitrox, technical diver/extended range, trimix, sidemount) and CCR/rebreather training on the rEvo, alongside standard reef and wreck diving in the Caribbean. Training and guided diving are offered in German and English, in small groups of a maximum of 4 divers per guide, with all core programmes run in-house (no outsourcing). Guided cavern tours run from Puerto Aventuras, Dos Ojos, Tulum and Puerto Morelos; guided cave dives run in the systems of Sac Actun, Ox Bel Ha and Dos Ojos; ocean trips cover the local reef and the C-56 wreck, seasonal bull sharks off Playa del Carmen (November-March), and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef off Cozumel. Markus holds instructor credentials with IANTD (Instructor Trainer), TDI (Full Cave, Decompression Procedures), PADI (IDC Master Instructor) and GUE (Tech 1/Cave 1 diver), and Planet Scuba Mexico is an official Extra Divers Worldwide partner centre. Daily hotel pickup from Puerto Aventuras, Playa del Carmen and Tulum can be arranged; the meeting point is confirmed privately after enquiry, as there is no public shop address. The centre also runs Planet Scuba Travel, leading small-group technical and CCR expeditions further afield, including Truk Lagoon, Bikini Atoll, Galapagos and Socorro.
