Papalagi Diving School Shinjuku

About

Papalagi Diving School Shinjuku is one of 11 branches of Papalagi, a PADI 5-Star dive school network based mainly in Tokyo and Kanagawa, Japan. Founded roughly 40 years ago, the group has certified more than 30,000 first-time divers and issued over 135,000 certification cards in total, and its instructors have been voted Japan's best teaching dive school in reader rankings by Marine Diving magazine (winning 4 categories in the 2021 awards). The Shinjuku store opened in 1999 as the group's second Tokyo location, a 7-minute walk from JR Shinjuku Station's west exit, and certifies more first-time divers per year than any other Papalagi branch. More than 40 PADI instructors work across the network, including a PADI Course Director, so students can progress all the way from beginner Open Water training to professional Divemaster and Instructor (OWSI) levels. Papalagi offers pool-based Discovery (try-scuba) experiences, the full PADI course ladder (Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water with specialty options such as Underwater Photographer, Naturalist, Deep Diver and Navigation, Rescue Diver, Divemaster, Assistant Instructor and Instructor courses), Emergency First Response training, dedicated Platinum courses for divers aged 50 and over, and Dolphin Swim training. The group runs more than 1,000 fun-dive tours and events every year to destinations including the Izu Peninsula, Okinawa, Hokkaido and international sites.
