Formerly Madeira Divepoint, this dive center (rebranded as XpointMadeira) has operated on Madeira's south coast at Funchal since 1991 and is the island's only PADI 5 Star Instructor Development and Dive Resort. It is based inside the Pestana Hotel Madeira Carlton with an ocean-front eco-park location that allows shore entries directly to the house reef. Alongside diving the center runs snorkeling trips, whale and dolphin watching boat tours, SUP/kayak outings and boat fireworks trips. The dive program covers everything from Bubblemaker and Try Scuba experiences for beginners through the full PADI course ladder (Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Adventure/Advanced Open Water Diver, Nitrox, Rescue, Divemaster). Popular local sites include the Garajau Marine Park and the sunken Navy frigate wreck. Free nitrox is offered on qualifying dive packages, and the center has received multiple TripAdvisor certificates of excellence.
