Mactan Scuba University (MSU) is a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center on Mactan Island, Cebu, Philippines, led by a resident PADI Course Director of Japanese nationality — one of the few dive centers worldwide with a resident CD, and the only one in the Philippines with a Japanese CD. Since 2018 the center has kept a 100% initial Instructor Examination pass rate for both local and international candidates. MSU trains divers along the full PADI ladder, from Open Water through Advanced, Rescue, Divemaster and the Instructor Development Course, plus a wide range of specialty courses. Fun diving trips cover shore and boat dives around Olango, Hilutungan and Nalusuan islands, night dives, and whale shark tours near Moalboal and Oslob. Courses are typically run as small private lessons, and MSU also offers scholarships that bring local Filipino divers up to Divemaster level free of charge.
