Maafushi Scuba & Freediving is a PADI International Retailer Association dive centre on the local island of Maafushi in South Malé Atoll, about 30 minutes by speedboat from Malé airport. Diving is by local dhoni boat that carries up to 18 divers, with sites reachable in 15-40 minutes, including Kuda Giri wreck, Guraidhoo Kandu, Kandooma Thila, Maafushi Caves and the shark-rich Shark Point. The centre offers the full range of PADI courses from Discover Scuba to Divemaster, Bubble Maker for kids from age 8, plus night, drift, wreck and deep dive specialties, using Aqualung gear and Coltri compressors.
