Keadivers is a PADI 5 Star Dive Centre on the island of Kea, one of the most beautiful islands of the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea, Greece. The team has known these waters for almost 35 years and has been scuba diving here since 1995, operating all over the island from its sea-front base in Vourkari bay (140 m from the harbour pier) and a second base at Koundouraki beach in Koundouros bay. Owner Yannis Tzavelakos is a PADI and EFR Instructor, OC Trimix and CCR diver and gas-blending instructor, supported by experienced instructors Stelios Berketis and Tassos Papapanos. What makes Kea unique is the Kea Underwater Historic Site (KUHS), home to three famous wrecks: the HMS Britannic (sister ship of the Titanic, at 120 m), the French cargo ships Burdigala and Patris, plus a WWII German Junkers 52 aircraft. The protected, no-fishing areas around the wrecks teem with marine life, water temperatures range from 19-26 degrees and visibility is usually over 30 m. The centre runs the full range of recreational PADI courses for ages 8 to 75, technical and trimix expeditions to the deep wrecks, guided boat dives, snorkelling and speedboat trips around the island's remote beaches and the ancient sunken site of Karthea. The centre follows PADI and DAN standards, is licensed by the Greek coastguard, insured by DAN Europe and inspected by Bureau Veritas. Dives are run from a modern fleet of RIB speedboats and the team communicates in Greek and English.
