Rainbow Divers is Vietnam's longest established PADI operation, founded by Course Director Jeremy Stein in 1996 in Nha Trang. The network now runs dive bases in Nha Trang, on Whale Island, and in Saigon, with partner centres in Phu Quoc, Con Dao and Hoi An. The Nha Trang base runs daily boat trips into the Hon Mun Marine Park, home to over 350 species of hard and soft coral, with sites ranging from the swim-throughs of Madonna Rock to the macro life of Moray Beach. Whale Island, two hours north by road, is the team's dedicated macro and muck-diving base: shore and boat dives in a sheltered bay known for nudibranchs, frogfish, ghost pipefish and seahorses, with the diving season running roughly February to October. Rainbow Divers teaches the full PADI curriculum from Discover Scuba Diving through Divemaster and Instructor level, in English, Vietnamese, French, Russian and Chinese, and Nha Trang also hosts their monthly PADI Instructor Development Courses. As Vietnam's first PADI dive centre and a PADI Career Development Center, the team has run instructor training and marine conservation work in the country for close to three decades.
