Issa Diving Center - island Vis - Komiza

About

Issa Diving Center opened in 1996 as the first and only dive center on the island of Vis, and is based in the fishing village of Komiza on a pebble beach beside the Bisevo Hotel. It is run by founder Sinisa Izakovic, a TDI/SDI Trimix Instructor Trainer with over 40 years of diving experience and more than 12,000 logged dives, together with his son and co-founder Marko Izakovic, also a Trimix instructor and SDI Course Director. The center is an official TDI/SDI representative for Croatia and is staffed by 4 diving instructors and 3 divemasters. Issa Diving Center is known above all for wreck diving: it runs guided dives to WWII wrecks around Vis, including the B-17 Flying Fortress bomber (65-72m) and the B-24 Liberator Tulsamerican (38-53m), plus reef and wall sites such as Teti, Fortunal and Brioni. Alongside SDI recreational courses (from beginner Open Water through Rescue Diver, Master Scuba Diver and Divemaster) the center runs a full TDI technical program covering Nitrox, Decompression Procedures, Extended Range, Trimix and Advanced Trimix, cave and wall diving, night diving, and gas blending. The center operates two 10-metre dive boats and a 6-metre boat, can service up to 35 divers per session, and mixes its own Nitrox and Trimix with an MPS mixer and two silent compressors (total capacity 770 l/min). The diving season runs from 1 April to 1 December each year, with off-season diving arranged on request.
