Hiriketiya Diving Center is a PADI-affiliated dive operator based in Hiriketiya Bay, near Dickwella in Sri Lanka's Southern Province, run by managing director and co-founder Mahesh Senevirathne. The centre's stated mission is to provide low-impact diving experiences while supporting the preservation of the southern Sri Lankan marine ecosystem, with peak underwater visibility of 15-30 metres from November to April. Complete beginners can start with PADI Discover Scuba Diving training in the calm, shallow waters of the horseshoe-shaped Hiriketiya Bay. Certified divers can book single or double-tank fun dives, night dives (including a double-tank night dive), and PADI courses including Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver and Emergency First Response, taught by certified PADI instructors, with dives to local reefs and a nearby shipwreck. Non-divers can join a Standard Snorkeling Tour or a Premium Snorkeling & Marine Safari at the nearby Nilwella Underwater Gallery, a shallow site well suited to snorkelling and trial dives.
