Aguas Vivas is a small freediving and spearfishing center based in Vila Nova de Milfontes, on Portugal's Alentejo coast, run by Mario Carvalho, an AIDA Master Freediving Instructor and SSI freediving/spearfishing/scuba instructor with over 20 years of spearfishing experience. It teaches both the AIDA and SSI freediving systems side by side, from first pool and sea sessions through advanced and master levels reaching around 38 meters, plus monofin, no-fins, training-tables and mermaid specialties. Spearfishing is a second core activity, with basic and advanced safety/training courses and boat-based spearfishing outings. The center also runs an AIDA Youth program for children from age 6, snorkelling and fun-dive trips, and sells and rents freediving and spearfishing gear, holding the national representation for the BlueGreen, Diverman and Deep Dive Xtasy brands alongside Mares and Salvimar equipment.
