About
Gold Coast Dive Adventures is a PADI dive centre and Sea Shepherd Dive Partner based at Runaway Bay Marina, running small-group offshore boat dives for certified divers on three custom-built vessels. Groups are capped at 5 divers per guide (12 per boat), with an in-water dive guide, snacks and hot soup between dives, and gear hire and hotel transfers available. Local trips explore the Scottish Prince shipwreck and Migaloo and Palm Beach Reefs a short ride from the Gold Coast Seaway, while longer voyages head to North Stradbroke Island's Manta Bommie, famous for its manta ray cleaning stations, Cook Island Marine Reserve with its resident turtles and leopard sharks, and the advanced, current-swept Nine Mile Reef, a winter hotspot for grey nurse sharks. A highlight is Wonder Reef, the world's first artistically designed buoyant reef, its nine sculptural spirals anchored offshore from The Spit and ranging from 8 to 30 metres. The centre also runs Wave Break Island introductory scuba experiences for first-time divers, personalised learn-to-dive courses up to professional level, and further trips beyond the Gold Coast to sites such as Flinders Reef, the HMAS Brisbane wreck and Julian Rocks. An onsite dive shop and equipment servicing round out the offering.
