Galleon Divers

About

Galleon Divers has operated out of Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic since 2004, run by owner and CMAS/IDA-certified instructor Robinson Jimenez together with a team of PADI-certified divemasters and instructors. The center specializes in exploring the many 16th-19th century shipwrecks scattered off the Monte Cristi coast, running archaeological-style wreck dives (open to divers with at least PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent) that recover and document artifacts in partnership with the national maritime authority and marine-archaeology agencies. It also guides trips over the area's mangroves and coral reefs. The operation runs a fleet of three dive boats with full rental gear, underwater communication systems, metal detectors and dredging equipment for wreck work, and can arrange airport pickup from Cibao International Airport plus lodging and meals with a partner hotel and restaurant in Monte Cristi for multi-day expeditions.
