Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru sits in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and runs its diving program through a PADI Five-Star Career Development Centre staffed by multilingual instructors (courses offered in Japanese, German, Russian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and English). The centre offers a PADI Discover Scuba Diving try-dive for beginners (credited toward Open Water certification if the guest continues), full PADI Open Water Diver certification completed in three to four days (two days if the theory portion is finished via eLearning beforehand), daily one- and two-tank boat dives to the atoll's thilas (pinnacles) and kandus (channels), and sunrise, night and other specialty dives on request. It also runs the PADI Seal Team program for children aged 8+ in a sheltered lagoon area called Coral Gardens.
