Dive Planet Mafia Island is a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort in Utende, inside Mafia Island's Marine Park, about 15 minutes from Kilindoni Airport. The centre runs small guided groups and keeps a fleet of four boats -- two speedboats for 6-8 divers, a traditional dhow for up to 10-12 divers, and a small private boat for two -- giving flexible options for every guest. On site there is a large equipment room stocked with ScubaPro and Mares rental gear, a shaded terrace, a small restaurant, hot-and-cold showers, and a 1-2.5 m training pool used for courses. The experienced local crew know the reefs around Mafia well and focus on safe, relaxed diving for beginners through advanced divers. Alongside diving, the centre organises whale shark snorkelling, sandbank picnics and island excursions for guests who prefer to stay above the surface. A daily Marine Park entrance fee of $23 per person applies and is not included in service prices.
