Dive Batanes Resort is a family-run lodge on Chanarian Beach in Basco, Batanes, founded in 2006 by Ivatan native Josephine Loor and her husband Douglas Rutherford. Alongside a "home-feel" lodge with a restaurant and a newly added swimming pool with a water slide, the couple built a professional PADI dive shop, aiming to give guests an unpolished, personal introduction to Batanes' waters. The resort's PADI Dive Masters lead guided diving, freediving and snorkeling tours through the area's ocean environment and coral seascapes, paired with a strong emphasis on eco-friendly diving practices, safe procedures and marine-life conservation. It's positioned as much for non-divers as for certified guests: the lodge, restaurant and pool are open to anyone visiting the remote Batanes islands, with diving offered as one part of the wider stay.
