Devocean Divers Malapascua

About

Devocean Divers is a five-star PADI IDC dive center on Bounty Beach, Malapascua Island, Philippines, based at the Hippocampus Beach Resort. Originally opened by Seaquest Dive Center in 2011, it was bought and renamed in 2015 by former manager Marcus Benders. The center's signature draw is the daily encounter with elusive thresher sharks at the Monad Shoal cleaning station, along with seasonal eagle rays and mantas, hammerheads at Kimud Shoal, white tip reef sharks at Gato Island, mandarin fish night dives at Lighthouse Reef, and day trips to Kalanggaman Island. Devocean runs two Bangka outrigger dive boats plus a speedboat and dedicated flat-boats for PADI students, with tanks filled by its own compressors and Nitrox 32% available to certified divers. The full PADI course ladder is taught in small groups of up to 4 students, from Bubble Maker and Discover Scuba Diving through Open Water, Advanced, Rescue, specialty courses and Divemaster, with instructors speaking multiple languages and PADI eLearning available for the theory portion. The dive shop itself has an air-conditioned classroom, camera and equipment rinse areas, and rental gear replaced every 3 years. Devocean holds a 2016 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
