Cave Spirit is a private cenote-diving service in Cancun run by Alex, an independent PADI dive instructor and full-cave-trained guide. Instead of joining mixed groups, divers get one-on-one guiding with sites chosen to match their certification, experience and interests, and solo divers are welcome. Alex offers a range of cenotes to choose from: Dos Ojos (Barbie Line and Bat Cave routes), the deep Zapote with its Hell's Bells formations, the light-beam-filled Maravilla cavern, the mystical Angelita with its underwater cloud, and the delicately decorated Dream Gates passages. A typical trip runs about seven hours door to door and includes hotel pickup and transportation from Cancun, well-maintained Scubapro dive equipment and dive lights, and two dives. Divers only need an Open Water certification for most cenotes; for non-certified guests, Alex can arrange a beginner-friendly Discover Scuba experience in suitable cenotes instead.
