About
PADI 5 Star IDC dive center founded in 2000 in Bulgaria, with training bases in Sozopol on the Black Sea coast and a pool facility in Sofia for the off-season. Bulgarian Diving Academy has held PADI 5 Star IDC status since 2007 and trains instructors and recreational divers in Bulgarian, English and Russian. The Sozopol centre has its own compressors, steel and aluminium tanks, a full range of rental gear from Beuchat, Suunto, Seacsub and Cressi, and a dive boat for up to 12 divers. Diving takes place around Sozopol, one of the oldest towns on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, known for shipwrecks and underwater archaeological remains. The academy runs the full PADI course line-up from Discovery Scuba Diving and Bubblemaker for children through Open Water, Advanced and Rescue Diver to professional-level Divemaster and Instructor training, plus a wide range of specialty courses.
