Buceo Puerto de Javea is a PADI dive center offering a Discover Scuba Diving-style dive experience for those unsure about a full course, where the instructor stays with the diver throughout. It also runs the PADI Open Water Diver course, training divers to a maximum depth of 18 metres; as a certified open-water diver this is described as only the start of a life full of diving adventures. The Open Water course consists of three main phases: knowledge development, confined-water dives to learn basic skills, and open-water dives to put those skills into practice. The minimum age is 10 years old and the course requires a time commitment of approximately 8-15 hours.
