Bluewater Divers is Oklahoma's premier PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Center, based in Norman, Oklahoma, and operating for over 30 years. As an inland dive shop, it trains students in a heated pool, then completes open-water certification dives at regional lakes and quarries such as Beaver Lake (Arkansas), Lake Tenkiller, Elmer Thomas Lake in the Wichita Wildlife Refuge, the Blue Hole (Santa Rosa, NM), Scuba Ranch, Lake Murray, Athens Scuba Park, Broken Bow and Lake Travis. The shop also organizes 5-6 international dive travel trips each year to ocean destinations. Courses range from Discover Scuba Diving and PADI Open Water Diver through Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, a wide range of specialty courses, and PADI professional-level Divemaster and Open Water Scuba Instructor training. Rather than offering old rental gear, Bluewater Divers runs a demo/rental department stocked with current-model regulators, BCDs and dive computers from major brands, refreshed annually, with Rent-to-Own and Try-It-Before-You-Buy-It programs. The shop also fills air up to 4500 PSI and Nitrox up to 40%, and hosts regular pool 'Dive Nights' where certified divers can practice skills or test gear.
