Azul Diving Madeira is a PADI 5 Star Dive Centre operating from two locations on the island: Funchal on the south coast and Ponta de São Lourenço on the eastern tip, near Quinta do Lorde Marina. Since 2014 the center has certified more than 5,000 new divers and introduced over 40,000 guests to Discover Scuba experiences, backed by more than 1,500 five-star reviews. Boat dives run Monday to Saturday to the Garajau Marine Reserve, the Afonso Cerqueira wreck, and the protected waters of Ponta de São Lourenço — sites chosen for the 2022 Underwater Photography European Championship — alongside daily shore dives from both bases. The center runs the full PADI Open Water Diver course over three days, a Discover Scuba try-dive with no certification required, night dives, and a PADI ReActivate/refresher program for divers returning after time away. Guests can expect small groups, multilingual instructors, and full equipment provided as standard, diving among volcanic reefs, moray eels, rays and the occasional monk seal.
