Athina Diving was founded in 1994 by Dimitris Roubos and is the only dive center within a 30-minute drive of Athens that sits directly on the beach, at Lagonisi on the Athens-Sounio coastal road, with its own private parking and a boat launch slipway. The center runs certified-diver boat trips every Saturday and Sunday morning, plus weekday trips on request, along with shore dives. Beginners can try the Discover Scuba Diving program before working toward a full PADI Open Water Diver certification, and the center also teaches specialty courses such as Boat Diver, Altitude Diver and Deep Diver. Visibility is clear and the water is warm through the summer season, with easy access from central Athens by car, metro/bus or the Athens-Sounio KTEL bus line.
