About
Ankay Conservation is a marine conservation and scuba diving centre based in Bocas del Toro, Panama, combining PADI dive training with citizen-science reef conservation work. It teaches how the Bocas del Toro ecosystem works, the marine species present, and how divers can help protect them through hands-on ecological monitoring, whether guests are experienced divers or have never dived before. In its 2024 season the programme reported 4,350 metres of coral reef surveyed, 8,428 fish surveyed and over 100 participants trained. Alongside its own Marine Ecology and Species Identifier conservation courses, Ankay is a PADI centre offering Discover Scuba Diving, Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver certification courses, with prices subject to Panama's 7% ITBMS tax.
