Airlie Beach Dive & Snorkel Centre is based in the heart of Airlie Beach, Queensland, and runs small-group diving and snorkelling trips into the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Guided dives keep a maximum ratio of four divers per guide, with return transport, full equipment and a light snack included, and multilingual PADI instructors (English and German). Day trips range from shallow shore dives at Bowen's Horseshoe Bay coral gardens, by day or torch-lit at night, to full-day boat trips out to secluded Whitsunday Island reef sites, and the flagship SS Yongala Wreck Dive - one of the world's top-ranked wreck dives, home to giant groupers, eagle rays, turtles and sea snakes on the 1911 shipwreck. Private dive and snorkel charters are also available for those wanting the boat to themselves. On the training side, the centre teaches the full PADI pathway from Discover Scuba Diving and the Bubblemaker program for kids through Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver and a Divemaster internship, plus scuba refresher courses and first aid/CPR training.
