Afro Divers Lodge

About

Afro Divers Lodge is a small, intimate boutique dive resort in the north-west of Pemba Island, Tanzania, run by Carlotta and Michael since 2019 together with a local team. The PADI dive center keeps groups small (a maximum of four divers per guide) and runs two fast boats out to 25+ largely unspoiled sites along Pemba's North-West coast, mostly dramatic walls dropping from around 12m to 50m or deeper, with strong currents, healthy coral gardens and regular sightings of reef fish, dolphins and (July-October) humpback whales. Courses are taught in English, German, Italian, French and Dutch, from Discover Scuba Diving through Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver/EFR and Nitrox specialty. The lodge's own 10-room accommodation sits right on the beach, with a typical day combining two morning boat dives, a beach surface interval, lunch back at the lodge, and an optional afternoon or night dive. The center closes each year in May for the rainy season.
