Undersea Hunter

Undersea Hunter Group runs liveaboard expeditions to Costa Rica's legendary Cocos Island - "shark island" - some 500 km (312 miles) off the mainland, aboard the vessels Argo and Sea Hunter. Born of a volcanic eruption over two million years ago, Cocos is among the sharkiest places on Earth and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Divers encounter enormous schools of scalloped hammerheads, plus tiger, Galapagos and whitetip sharks, marble rays, mantas, dolphins, whale sharks and big schools of jacks. The crossing from Puntarenas takes around 32-36 hours; trips suit experienced divers, and Nitrox certification and other courses are available on board. With 12 species of sharks and dozens of endemic species, Cocos is one of the last great frontiers of big-animal diving.
