Active since 2007 in Calabria, the Services Company for Tourism and Sport Megale Hellas, with annexe Diving Center, operates in an area naturally predisposed to welcome those who love the sea, the nature and the variety of landscapes, which are home of archaeological vestiges and ancient traditions. Here, in the heart of the Mediterranean, the ancient Magna Grecia territory – hence the choice of the name “Megale Hellas” – invites you to know the hidden secrets of the turquoise blue sea, which bathes wide sandy beaches along the Ionian Sea and vertiginous cliffs along the Tyrrhenian “Violet Coast”. The Megale Hellas Diving Center – SSI Center (Scuba Schools International), Sea Point FIAS (Italian Federation of Underwater Activities) and Gold Center ISDA (International Scuba Diving Academy) – will guide you to the discovery of the uncontaminated sea of Calabria with its Diving School, well-organized to introduce you to the hidden wonders of the Ionian, of the Tyrrhenian and of the Strait of Messina. The structure, comfortable and well equipped, is located a few steps from the sea, on the Marina di Gioiosa Ionica promenade, in the heart of the so-called “Jasmines Coast”. It has a large reception, a multimedia classroom, a full deposit with equipment rentable, bath, hot shower and a wide laundry for washing equipment after dives. The Megale Hellas has also always been active in the practice and diffusion of safety at sea and beyond. We organize First Aid courses (BLS-D First Aid and Oxygen First Aid) and courses for Lifeguards. But Megale Hellas is not only this… It’s a structured center of tourist services for the discovery and knowledge of the province of Reggio Calabria territory. We are able to offer all-inclusive tourist services, for divers and not, which include, in addition to courses and scuba diving, guided tours, hiking, trekking and food and wine tours, to discover the natural, architectural and archaeological beauty of this area of Calabria, surrounded by two seas, dominated by the massif of the Aspromonte National Park and inhabited by people characterized by deep and generous hospitality.

By plane: Airport of Lamezia Terme (110 km) or Reggio Calabria (105 km). By train: Gioiosa Jonica station (500 m from the Diving Center). By bus: Bus Federico and Troiolo from the main Italian cities. The bus stop is located 500 m from the DIving Center. By car: from the Salerno-Reggio Calabria motorway, exit Rosarno; along the Ionian-Tyrrhenian fast road (SS682) to Marina di Gioiosa, at the end of the road on the Ionian Sea (the SS106).
