Start your scuba certification online. What is Involved The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases: Knowledge Development which can be done online, at home or in a classroom. This will give you an understanding of basic principles and safety aspects of scuba diving You will learn 24 new skills in Confined Water, usually in a swimming pool that will assist you before you enter the open water. And 4 Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore the wonderful under sea world! If you have previously tried scuba diving with a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, the skills you learned may be credited towards a portion of the full PADI Open Water Diver course certification. Prerequisites Students will need to be 10 years or older to enroll in the PADI Open Water Diver course or PADI Junior Open Water Diver course, and 13 years old if they wish to use the PADI eLearning due to international internet laws. **Please note that you will need to know how to swim for 200 metres (any stroke) or swim with mask, fin and snorkel as well as float/tread water for 10 minutes.
